Our Story
MI Diamonds is a brand born from art and passed down through generations.
It all began in the 1980s in Sofia – in a small sculpture studio, where the founder's grandfather, Rilcho Iliev, created works with a remarkable sense of form and detail. He was not only a recognized sculptor and teacher but also a man who passed on to his sons a love for art and craftsmanship. This passion evolved into a new beginning. His sons – Yavor Iliev, a jeweler by profession, and Vihren Iliev, one of Sofia's most successful jewelry merchants – transformed the artistic heritage into a craft that united art and commerce. The founder's mother, Tsvetelina Angelova-Ilieva, also an artist, joined their inspiration, completing the family's creative lineage.
Today, MI Diamonds is a continuation of this story. Created by Matteo Iliev – a second-generation jeweler-merchant – the brand carries with it the experience, aesthetics, and sensibility accumulated in the family for more than four decades.

The Birth of a Diamond Brand
MI Diamonds was born from the pursuit of perfection in an art that combines precision, emotion, and deep reverence for the natural beauty of gemstones. We created a boutique brand with the ambition to offer a world-class level of quality and service – something that had long been missing from the Bulgarian market. Our team began its journey in the world of cut diamonds in 2010 – at a time when the supply of high-end jewelry and diamonds in Bulgaria was severely limited. Today, many of our specialists have over 12 years of experience with gemstones, and some of our jewelers and appraisers bring professional expertise built over 30 or even 40 years.
In recent years, we have worked primarily in the B2B (business-to-business) sector – supplying diamonds and gemstones to a number of Bulgarian jewelers, both established and new. We have built long-term partnerships, proven our prices and professionalism throughout the country – and even beyond. Through constant communication with jewelers from Bulgaria and around the world, we continue to develop. B2B trade remains an important part of our business, but today a new era is dawning. It's time to turn directly to you – the end customer – and build a Bulgarian jewelry brand of world-class caliber.
